Last October 2, 2023, Sr. Ma. Asunción González Feijóo, O.P., General Prioress of the Missionaries of St. Dominic (Misioneras de Santo Domingo) visited Dominican International School-Taipei. She was accompanied by General Treasurer Sr. Maria Lee, OP. They are based in Rome, Italy, the location of the General Curia (Curia Generalicia), from which the whole congregation is governed. This is her second visit in two years.
Last year, she visited DIS with the General Secretary Sr. Mary Jeanet Pintacasi, O.P. She visits schools, residences, and sanctuaries as part of their pastoral work. She oversees the institutions under her care. Part of her pastoral duty includes giving help and advising about their mission.
DIS is under the province of St. Vincent Ferrer which is one of the seven provinces or mission territories under the General Prioress. Her visit to DIS coincided with the launching of the Holy Rosary Month. This year’s theme is “Do whatever He tells you (Jn. 2:5): Mary’s Spirit of Discipleship”. The Holy Rosary is called a synthesis or compendium of the Gospel, with the mysteries of light make the Rosary even more complete. She gave an inspirational message that centered on the theme of the Holy Rosary Month.
She was welcomed wholeheartedly by the school community led by Directress/Principal Sr. Jacqueline C. Manuel, OP, and Mother Superior Sr. Flor Ordoñez, OP of the Dazhi Sisters Community.
