The new Executive Committee members of the Volunteer Involved Parents (VIP) took their oath last September 9, 2024 at the DIS gymnasium. The VIPs help build a sense of community among parents, teachers, and students. They organize social events, family-oriented activities, and collaborative projects that bring people together. This sense of community fosters a supportive network, promotes school spirit, and strengthens the overall school culture. They were introduced one by one by the VIP Moderator Dr. Agosh Librea. The new set of members are:
Dr. Agosh administered their oath-taking. Directress/ Principal Sr. Jacqueline C. Manuel, OP confirmed and installed the same.
“I, (state name) having been elected as (state position) of the Volunteer Involved Parents Association of the Dominican International School do solemnly pledge that I do commit myself to abide, support, and protect the school’ Constitution and By-Laws. I give the best of my ability in promoting school’s aims that I take this obligation freely without standing relationship with the school, staff, and my VIP counterparts, so help me God.”
The turnover of the Constitution and By-laws formalizes the acceptance of this year’s Executive Committee. Representing the outgoing Chairperson Ms. Ellen Chu is the outgoing Secretary Ms. Lyn Fu. She handed them to Sr. Jacqueline in turn Chairperson Ms. Janice Liu. Ms. Janice Liu is a former executive committee member for the school year 2023-24.
Sr. Jacqueline gave her congratulatory words to newly inducted officers of the Executive Committee. She said the community is looking forward to the positive impact of the new leadership in the coming year. Your fresh ideas, enthusiasm, and willingness to serve will surely inspire others to get involved.
This annual induction ceremony is included in the Eucharistic Celebration of the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
